Founded by Maurizio Cerliani in 1932 for the purpose of producing sewing machines shuttles, the Cerliani Company in a matter of few years has become a leader in the manufacturing of shuttles, rotary hooks and bobbin cases (branded CM®) for any industrial and household lockstitch sewing machine.
Always loyal to its origins and attentive to the best traditions and the bonds with its territory, the company is still located at its original seat at Pavia’s outskirts a the strategic position in the middle of the Po Valley in northern Italy.
The city of Pavia was founded over 2000 years ago.
The ease of communications, the presence for over 1000 years of the University as cultural center of great innovative stimulation and attraction are the factors which through the centuries have determined its importance and still today continue to characterize its life.
Its university, in which all the scientific departments are flourishing, and the closeness to the Milan Polytechnic allow Cerliani to always be at the very forefront of scientific/technical progress.
Culture and tradition facilitate the choice and availability of qualified personnel.
For these reasons the choice of the placement of the CM company at the outskirts of the town of Pavia is certainly most appropriate. | |  | | | This strategic position in the middle of northern Italy puts CM in the center of the most important Italian industrial area characterized by the triangle Milan –Turin – Genoa. In fact these cities are about one hour away from Pavia by car. Not much farther are the other two major Italian industrial areas of Bergamo and Brescia. To reach Pavia from abroad, the most convenient city is certainly Milan:
Pavia is connected to Milan (from which it is only 22 miles away) and to Europe by a tight network of highways and railroads, and to the rest of the world by two Intercontinental Milanese airports (Milano-Malpensa and Milano-Linate).
Only slightly farther there is also the airport of Bergamo - Orio al Serio. The Company is erected over an area of 24,000 m2, of which 6,800 m2 are buildings. | BY AIRPLANE Arriving at the airport of Milano-Malpensa take the shuttle bus SGEA (transportation time about 1 hour and 20 minutes) to the train station of Pavia. Then take the bus ASM-LINE to reach the factory (see below).
Arriving at the airport Milano-Linate take the shuttle bus SGEA (transportation time about 1 hour) to the train station of Pavia. Then take the bus ASM-LINE to reach the factory (see below).
Arriving at the airport Bergamo-Orio al Serio there are however no direct public transportation services to Pavia. | | BY TRAIN The PAVIA train station in on the railway stretch MILANO-GENOVA.
1) Get off at the PAVIA station.
2) Use the ASM-LINE bus to reach the factory (see below). | | BY BUS FROM THE PAVIA TRAIN STATION 1) Use the ASM-LINE no. 4 in direction Torre d’isola/Sora.
2) Get off at the Mascherpa stop (in front of the factory). |
BY CAR (GPS: Longitude 9°07’08” E; Latitude 45°11’43” N) | | From the airport of MILANO-Malpensa. 1) Exit the airport MILANO-Malpensa.
2) After 0.2 km follow direction A8-Milano-Varese/ Malpensa Terminal2.
3) After 14 km follow direction E62 Milano/A9 Como-Chiasso.
4) After 13.5 km follow direction E62 Milano/Aeroporto Linate.
5) After 5 km follow direction A4 Torino/A7 Genova/A1 Bologna.
6) After 1 km comes the Tollgate. Continue following direction A1 Bologna/Aeroporto Linate/A7 Genova.
7) After 19 km follow direction A7 Genova.
8) After 1 km cross the Tollgate.
9) After 17 km exit the expressway exit PAVIA Nord / BEREGUARDO.
10) After 0.6 km you will meet the tollgate.
11) Proceed straight on the junction road BEREGUARDO-PAVIA for 8 km and exit at the intersection PAVIA Centro / Via Riviera.
12) Proceed on the right for 0.2 km until to reach the traffic-light intersection “San Lanfranco”.
13) At the traffic-light turn right and proceed straight for about 0.6 km. On the right you will find a building with red bricks. That is CM Cerliani S.r.l. | | From the airport of MILANO-Linate. 1) Exit the airport MILANO-Linate.
2) Proceed straight along Viale Forlanini. After 2 km follow direction A1 Bologna/A7 Genova.
3) After 10 km follow direction Tangenziale Ovest/A7 Genova/Aeroporto Malpensa.
4) After 10 km follow direction A7 Genova.
5) After 1 km cross the Tollgate.
6) After 17 km take the expressway exit PAVIA Nord / BEREGUARDO.
7) After 0.6 km you will meet the tollgate.
8) Proceed straight on the junction road BEREGUARDO-PAVIA for 8 km and exit at the intersection PAVIA Centro / Via Riviera.
9) Proceed on the right for 0.2 km until to reach the traffic-light intersection “San Lanfranco”.

2) After 0.6 km you will meet the tollgate.
3) Proceed straight on the junction road BEREGUARDO-PAVIA for 8 km and exit at the intersection PAVIA Centro / Via Riviera.
4) Proceed on the right for 0.2 km until to reach the traffic-light intersection “San Lanfranco”.
5) At the traffic-light turn right and proceed straight for about 0.6 km. On the right you will find a building with red bricks. That is CM Cerliani S.r.l. | | From the expressway A21 TORINO-PIACENZA. 1) Exit at the exits VOGHERA or CASTEGGIO.
2) Follow the signs for PAVIA/MILANO (strada statale 35).
3) Continue on SS 35 until you pass the traffic-light intersection BIVIO-CAVA.
4) Take the Pavia by-pass.
5) Exit at the exit A7-BEREGUARDO/ Via RIVIERA.
6) Then take the junction road (raccordo A53)) PAVIA-BEREGUARDO, and exit after 0.5 km at the Via Riviera intersection.
7) Proceed on the right for 0.3 km until to reach the traffic-light intersection “San Lanfranco”.
8) At the traffic-light turn right and proceed straight for about 0.6 km.
9) On the right you will find a building with red bricks. That is CM Cerliani S.r.l. | | FROM Milan or Genoa with state street SS 35. 1) Proceed always on SS 35 to the by-pass of PAVIA.
2) Take the bypass of Pavia.
3) Exit from the exit A7-BEREGUARDO/ Via RIVIERA.
4) Then take the junction road (raccordo A53) PAVIA-BEREGUARDO, and exit after 0.5 km at the Via Riviera intersection.
5) Proceed on the right for 0.3 km until to reach the traffic-light intersection “San Lanfranco”.
